چکیده
Understanding the physical and mechanical properties of soils subjected to freeze-thaw cycles, including both micro macrostructures, is critical for achieving required performance structures employing it as a structural or support material. An experimental study was carried out on clay soil with varying water content (18%, 21.5%, 23%) after repeated cycles (0, 2, 5, 7, 12, 15). The evaluated using unconfined compressive strength (UCS) ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) tests. results demonstrated that UCS peak values were observed at lowest before cycles. stress-strain curves exhibited strain-softening behavior, this condition transitioned strain hardening behavior increment in content. Moreover, highest UPV increase due capillary forces minimum Also, an number resulted decrease UPV. According correlations between values, contents obtained optimum content, decreasing trend experiencing periods. In addition, Grey Correlation Analysis performed show degree correlation UPV, well have greater impact than other parameters.

The Effect of Geopolymerization on the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Stabilized Fine-grained Soils
This study focuses on evaluating the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of improved fine-grained soils. A large database of unconfined compressive strength of clayey soil specimens stabilized with fly ash and blast furnace slag based geopolymer were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), a model has been developed to assess the UCS of stabi...

Mashhad city is located on alluvial deposits where the expanded area of this city, especially the central and eastern areas surrounding Imam Reza holy shrine, are built on weak and fine-grained deposits. Therefore, the soil improvement would be inevitable due to construction of high-rise buildings such as hotels and commercial complexes in these areas, as well as restructuring old buildin...

Uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic properties of rocks play a major and vital role for the design of any engineering structure. The specimen diameter size is one of the main factors that influencing on UCS, elasticity modulus and Poisson’s ratio (E and υ). Here, an attempt has been made to investigate the effect of specimen diameter size on UCS, E and υ. Moreover, we studied the co...
